The international program of the Tbilisi International Festival of Theatre presents some of the finest productions in contemporary theatre — theatre stars and creators whose vision, creative depth, and artistic taste are distinctive and exceptional.

This year, instead of autumn, the festival will take place in the summer — performances will begin on June 13 and continue until July 12. The program of Georgian productions, however, will once again be held in September.

Krzysztof Warlikowski’s Elizabeth Costello, Milo Rau’s The Seer (Misani), James Thierrée’s Rendez-vous, and the Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui duet Another Perspective will await the judgment of Georgia’s experienced and emotionally engaged audiences from June 13 to July 12. But not only judgment — this is about emotions and sensations that can arise only here and now, and will stay with you for a long time.

Since its founding, the festival has presented two main programs — the international program and the Georgian productions program. This year, the “New” program has also been revived. The festival consistently showcases both the “stars” of world theatre and exciting new names and phenomena. Over the years, guests of the festival have included Robert Wilson, Eimuntas Nekrošius, Robert Lepage, Daito Manabe, Giorgio Strehler, Akram Khan, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Silviu Purcărete, Jan Fabre, and many others.
