About Performance:
**NOTHING POLITICAL** is a collectively created performance by six co-authors, dedicated to the political crisis and protests that followed Georgia’s rigged 2024 election and the government’s shift toward increasingly anti-democratic and repressive politics. The authors, themselves participants in the resistance movement, share personal experiences intertwined with the political events that have radically transformed contemporary Georgia. Based on documentary materials, the performance rejects a historical narrative, as the process is still ongoing. Instead, it responds to dehumanizing propaganda by loudly expressing deeply personal connections to political events, telling, reshaping, and preserving stories doomed to be forgotten and erased: stories of pain and joy, imprinted in memory as fragments of a larger mechanism of crisis. The performance unfolds as a multimedia composition of text, testimony, live music, and drag performance as an embodied form of resistance, structured through the visual and linguistic logic of street demonstrations, where even scenes follow the fragmented language of protest.

**Open Space | Centre for Visual and Performing Arts** is an independent artist-run organisation founded in Tbilisi in 2016. It supports the development of contemporary experimental visual and performing arts in Georgia by initiating, producing and presenting artistic projects, fostering local and international collaborations, and operating as a platform for artistic research, experimentation and knowledge exchange. Open Space works across disciplines, bringing together theatre, performance, contemporary dance, visual art, music, text and new media. The organisation places particular emphasis on collaborative working methods, long-term artistic research and the exploration of new artistic forms. It supports practices that critically engage with the social, cultural and political realities of our time while encouraging dialogue between artists, audiences and different communities. The centre is located in a former electric motor factory in one of Tbilisi's post-industrial districts, beyond the city's historic centre. This location reflects its commitment to cultural decentralisation and the development of an independent arts ecosystem. Open Space provides a space where artists, researchers and local communities come together through creative collaboration, public programmes and shared artistic inquiry. Its year-round programme includes theatre productions, performances, exhibitions, music projects, artist residencies, workshops, educational programmes, public discussions and international collaborations. Through its activities, Open Space contributes to the development of new artistic practices, critical discourse and an open, independent contemporary cultural landscape in Georgia.
