Joseph, a 30-year-old single man, lives in the tightly controlled Republic of Eden. One quite ordinary morning Joseph is awakened by a sudden knock at the door. Without explanation agents of the Guards of the Supreme Authority storm into his home, arrest him, and order him to wait in silence until the arrival of the prosecutor.
Theatre on Atoneli is a small, independent theatre founded in 2005. It does not have a permanent ensemble of actors but instead invites and hosts directors, performers, and artists from diverse professional backgrounds — offering them the opportunity to create and present work in a theatrical setting.
The productions at Theatre on Atoneli often feature works by young Georgian artists who bring fresh perspectives to the plays of internationally acclaimed contemporary playwrights.
