About the performance:
"Odyssey" is a multimedia and experimental project that combines theater, animation and sound. The Performance is based on Greek mythology adapted for children.

​​"Odyssey" has two main characters – a father exhausted of everyday care and an animated hero - Odysseus, who tries to return home after the Trojan War and seeks a human help.

 

At its 90 Nodar Dumbadze Professional State Youth Theatre is still full of energy and life. Ever since its inception Youth Theatre has had a unique job of teaching a new generation to love theatre and art. We use universal values to form a new Georgian society. Our theatre has most various audiences, the repertoire is divided into three age categories – we have plays for children, youth and adults, some of them are played in two languages – Georgian and Russian and if you speak neither you can enjoy our plays with no text. Theatre repertoire is rich in genres: drama, comedy, musical, choreography, tales, adventure stories, melodramas and others. A friendly and creative atmosphere, professional and devoted company, interesting and various plays – this is State Youth Theatre.

Avtandil Diasamidze

Avtandil Diasamidze – stage director. He has recently graduated from Shota Rustaveli Georgian State University of Theatre and Cinema, Drama Department (Levan Tsuladze directors’ group). His stage productions include Bear by Anton Chekhov 2014 (as a part of his BA course), A Cube, a choreographic play based on He by J. Kharchkhadze (Marjanishvili Theatre, 2015, as a part of his Diploma course), Woyzeck by Georg Buhner (Marjanishvili Theatre, 2017) as well as 2 theatrical performances: Joaquin Cortazar ‘s House and Trip N-105157.

He won an annual theatrical award Duruji in 2015-2016 for the best young director and participated in joint projects with Ukrainian artists organized by European Theatre Convention within the framework of GOGOLFEST in Kiev in 2016-2017.
